CHEAPER CAR INSURANCE SERVICES LTD TERMS OF BUSINESS DOCUMENT OUR SERVICE Cheaper Car Insurance Services is an independent Insurance Intermediary specialising in Motor, Household and Travel insurance. Our service includes: advising you on your insurance needs; arranging your insurance cover with insurers to meet your requirements; and helping you with any ongoing changes you have to make. For some of the policies we arrange, you will deal directly with the insurer for ongoing policy administration such as in the case of car insurance: if you are to change your vehicle or wish to add an additional driver to your policy. As part of our service we will also assist you with any claim or uninsured loss recovery you need to make. As an Independent Intermediary we act solely on your behalf to find you the best policy for your needs. We search the Internet to find you the best policy and add an Agents Fee to the best premium found. The amount we charge is based on the amount we save you on your renewal premium or best quotation. We may ask you to provide proof of this if necessary. To find you the best policy we will pass your details onto various quote systems and may have to speak to some insurance companies on your behalf. We offer a range of personal insurance products, namely: car, home and travel insurance, and have access to most leading insurers and brokers in the marketplace. We will provide you with the best quote found within 24 hours however we aim to get back to you within 2-3 hours. Telephone calls may be monitored or recorded in order to ensure a consistent quality of service. CHARGES The full quotation offered represents the total annual premium payable and includes our agent's fee and insurance premium tax. Your contract of insurance with the relevant insurer will be formed when we have received your credit card or bank details. The Insurer will post your insurance certificate and full policy details to the address given within 5 days of arranging your policy. Our fee is based on the saving we make you on your renewal/best quote. The amount we charge generally equates to one third of the overall saving we make for you. In the event that you do not provide us with a renewal/best quote we will administer our standard fee of £50.00. If we are unable to make you a saving we will offer you our best quote and if you wish to accept this we will set it up without charging any fee. If within 14 days of the inception of your policy, you are unhappy with its terms, you may cancel coverage and obtain a full refund of premium from the insurer, so long as no claim has been made. The agent fee is non refundable apart from in exceptional circumstances e.g. where we have made an error when setting up the policy. Our agent fee will always be advised to you in advance of setting up a policy. We normally accept payment by guaranteed cheque, credit card, switch or by cash at our office. Alternatively you may be able to spread your payments through insurers' instalment schemes or a credit scheme, which we have arranged with Prompt Premium Finance. We will give you full information about the payment options when we discuss your insurance in detail. CUSTOMER PROTECTION INFORMATION The General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) regulates sales, advisory and service standards, to make sure that general insurance customers are treated fairly. We are members of the General Insurance Standards Council and are responsible for compliance with their rules. It is our intention to provide you with a first class service at all times. CUSTOMER'S DUTY TO GIVE INFORMATION It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out your insurance policy, during the life of the policy and when you renew your insurance. It is important that you ensure that all statements you make on proposal forms, claim forms and other documents are complete and accurate. Please note that if you fail to disclose any material information to your insurers, this could invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that all or part of the claim may not be paid. If you are in doubt about a particular fact being material to this insurance you should disclose it. Insurers exchange information through various databases to help check accuracy and to prevent fraud. CLAIMS In the event of a claim being made full information on the claims process will be included in your policy however if you want us to we will assist you with the completion of initial claim enquiry form(s). CONFIRMING COVER We will confirm your cover in writing within seven days of arranging your insurance policy CONFIDENTIALITY All personal information about you will be treated as private and confidential. We will only use and disclose the information we have about you in the normal course of arranging and administering your insurance, and will not disclose any information to any other parties without your consent. We may use information we hold about you to provide information to you about other products and services we offer, which we feel may be of interest to you. We may pass information about you to credit reference agencies for the purposes of arranging payments by instalments, and may also pass to them details of your payment record with us. Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you have a right to see personal information about you that we hold in our records. COMPLAINTS We will acknowledge receipt of you complaint in writing within 5 working days and give you our response to your complaint at this time if we can. If it will take more time to deal with your complaint, we will advise you who is dealing with your complaint, and when you can expect to hear a fuller response. If our investigations take longer we will provide you with a full written response within 20 working days, or explain the current position of your complaint and provide you with a timescale for a full response.
